22nd Rosen Self-Guided Audio Sculpture Tour

"This audio program has been designed to assist and improve the visitor's experience with the Rosen Outdoor Sculpture program and is best utilized when you walk the sculpture tour and learn about this program from the presenters firsthand. You will hear commentary from the Turchin Center's Director and Chief Curator Hank Foreman; this year's juror Sarah Clark-Langager; and comments from each participating artist and Project Director Brook Bower.

"As an added bonus, the musical compositions that you will hear as each artist speaks have been created for this year's sculptures by composers from the Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music under the direction of Dr. Scott Meister.

"This year's sculpture locations can be found along Rivers Street stretching from Walker Hall at Bodenheimer Drive to the Duck Pond at Stadium Drive. You may use the maps provided to help you locate the sculptures on the tour. You will find black plaques that indicate the number of the site you are viewing.

"Remember that sculpture is meant to be viewed three-dimensionally, so walk around the pieces while you listen to the artists speak about their work.

"During the self-guided tour, you will also encounter sculptures that are part of the Turchin Center's Permanent Collection. You will find the information about these sculptures located beside the works of art.

"As Assistant Curator and Project Director for the Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Program, it is with my sincere anticipation that you will find this program useful, not only in an aesthetic sense but as a tool to learn how to question your surroundings and better understand how the arts can become an integral part of our daily lives."
